Cork is the bark of the Cork Oak
tree (Quercus suber), a natural product which is harvested
without cutting down the tree. Cork Oak is a renewable and
sustainable resource which meets today's demands for care and
conservations of our forest. At cork oak plantations, the first cork bark is
taken when the trees are approximately 25 years old. The tree
is completely unharmed and regrows it cork surface, which can be
reharvested every 9 years. |
