Hogan Hardwoods International
imports exotic and imported hardwoods from around the world.
Hogan representatives visit sawmills in Africa and South
America and purchase the finest quality imported and exotic
lumber available. |
|
Most species are brought into the
U.S. either green or air dried and shipped to Hogan
International's concentration yard and dry kilns in Simsboro,
Louisiana. In Simsboro, lumber is promptly inspected

|
for grade and put on stickers to
air dry. When the lumber is at a moisture content of 30% or less, it
goes into a dry kiln for final drying. |
|
After kiln drying, each species is
re-inspected for grade and sorted for grain figure. Species offered as
"mixed grain" will include mostly plain sawn with small amounts of
quartered grain developing from the sawing process. Quarter sawn
lumber is much more stable and has straight grain with no cathedral
figure, and in many species, Hogan Hardwoods International offers both
plain sawn and quarter sawn stock. |
|
The following is a list of imported and
exotic hardwoods available for prompt shipment from Hogan Hardwoods
International and Hogan Hardwoods & Moulding. |
